Kijuju, a fictional region of Africa serves as the setting of Resident Evil 5, the latest entry in Capcom’s ongoing hit videogame saga. A biological disaster, a.k.a. weapons-grade parasitic infection turns people into mindless zombies . Growing tentacles, mindless rage, and yes oozing orifices lead to unparallel bloodlust.
As you drop into the situation completely unprepared for what awaits, you begin this adventure amidst splendid environments and combat sequences that you won’t soon forget. RE 5 offers all that and then some, but it doesn’t do many of the things longtime fans of the series expect. Not overly scary, you won’t be searching and counting ammo like it was gold. Unlike other games in the series, RE 5 takes you in a slightly different direction.
With danger lurking around every corner, Chris Redfield strives to survive in an unforgiving environment against this new round of evil. Be prepared to get the old juices flowing as hordes of zombies swarm you from every shadow . Next-gen lighting effects provide mirage movements even in broad daylight, and you soon realize there is no safety in Kijuju. Attempting to survive in both harsh sunlight and extreme darkness gives a whole new dimension to the gameplay. The number of weapons has been greatly increased to provide numerous inventive ways to kill your enemies.
Like RE 4, most of the gameplay involves battling mindless locals with a one-track mind for murder. As you progress tougher enemies are thrown at you, with old bosses (Captain Chainsaw) making appearances and ranged attacks becoming more common. Sure, there are some variations such as mutated dogs and flying, bat-like creatures, but in the end most of RE5 is like what is shown in the downloadable demo. What makes Resident Evil 5 so interesting is also what makes it so irritating, at first. Most third person shooters use a line of sight that is just slightly off center. Resident Evil 5 utilizes a much more drastic angle, giving it a significantly increased level of difficulty. The game compensates for this by giving you a laser sight.
Available on Xbox 360 and PS3

I urge you to try this game for yourself…even if its just a rent. You may dislike somethings, but at least you wont miss an excellent game altogether! I must say the visuals are absolutely mind blowing! The dust and particles blowing in the wind and around the shanty’s is downright amazing.

I got this game last night and was blown away by the attention to detail that capcom put into it. The graphics are absolutely amazing, you can see the flies buzzing around a rotting corpse. Play control is a little bit easier than it was in 4, but still takes some getting used to after playing standard third person shooters. From what I have seen with the story so far, it is definitely up to par.

I definitely agree with the two previous comments. RE5 is going to be one the top five finalists for game of the year 2009. The graphics will blow you away!!! And the game play is exactly what you would expect from this franchise, excellent.

Every source I can find says this add-on will not be released until sometime around 4-9-09. It was originally scheduled for release on 3-27-09. You will have to purchase the versus mode add-on separately at the playstation store when it is released. It does not come with the RE5 game. As of now it will cost $4.99 . That’s been a bit of a controversy for Capcom as many gamers feel cheated. Since this is a download you will need a hard drive. I hope this helps.
