PlayStation is once again king of the home video game console market. According to the recently released September NPD sales figures, PlayStation 3, fueled by a price cut and its new slimmed down design, tops all other home consoles for the first time since 2006. But not all was bad news for Microsoft and Nintendo. The NintendoDS led all platform hardware sales for the 6th straight time, trouncing Sony’s PSP by a 4 to 1 margin. And in total sales of hardware, software, and accessories combined, Microsoft outperformed the field with 32 percent of reported revenues.
