From the realms of the really weird, and I mean this literally, comes the story of the Xbox live lovin’ Oscar, a year old lab/hound mix canine with a serious gaming jones. What would you do if you woke up to discover that while you slept, someone used your credit card to make unauthorized purchases online? Would you call the company and tell them it was…your dog?
After getting up one morning to discover an email confirming a purchase of xbox live points from the night before, this particular dog owner made a startling discovery! Since everyone in the house was asleep when this purchase was made, and since this wireless xbox 360 controller had been mysteriously chewed on, slightly mangled, still wet with what could only be dog slobber, the gaming geek Oscar has received all the blame. Apparently Oscar began to chew on the controller, turning on the xbox 360 console. Then, by chewing on the correct buttons, in the correct order, Oscar was able to maneuver to the marketplace, order 5000 microsoft points currently worth $62.50, pay using a pre-stored credit card number, confirm the purchase, and then shut the console off before happily skipping off to doggie dream land.
Oscar’s owner, Greg, claims he was upset about the doggie spending spree at first, but has gotten over it and has since spent the points mainly on downloaded games. And while many gamers doubt Oscar’s late night shopping habits, dogs have definitely been guilty of stranger acts than this. In the meantime we say good gaming to you, Oscar! Just take it easy on the controllers, will ya?
